Our goal is simple – provide a free and open-source database for educators and students to find real life media examples that can explain or exemplify a certain concept or topic. This media could consist of scenes from television and film, short videos, images, songs/music, and everything in-between. 

The overall end goal is to establish a community-built database, as well as support system in finding media application to educational topics. Once you sign up for a free account, you will be able to explore and contribute to the database. Access to the database is always free and open, but to contribute, you must have an account. Be a hero to a fellow student or educator by adding media to the database for others to find. It is simple, fun, and easy. 

If you are looking for a media application to use to exemplify a certain topic or concept, then look no further. Here you can find and submit real life media examples from TV shows, movies, songs, YouTube clips, etc… that help explain a certain educational topic.

As a member of the Media.onl community, you have access to forums to help you find and discuss media application resources. If you need help finding media application, someone in the community might be able to help you. 

You will also have the ability to help someone else out by suggesting a resource to them or by offering feedback on a resource they might not be sure about whether that specific media portrays a particular topic or concept correctly.

What is Media Application?

Media Application is using audio and music, images, video, and TV and Film to help explain or exemplify a certain topic.

For instance, let’s say you need to teach or present on the concept of “Theory of Mind” for your Psychology course and you want to find a clip from a TV Show that does a great job portraying that concept, that would be using media application, that is applying an educational concept to some form of media.

Media.Onl tries to offer a free and community built database for media application in which users can easily find media that helps them demonstrate a particular topic or concept. 

Is Media.Onl Legal ?

Yes Media.onl is 100% legal and aims to protect the content submitted by its users based upon Section 107 of the Copyright Act. 

We do not make any profit from this site and the sole purpose of the database is for educational use only. We do not offer streaming of the content and moderate our content heavily to avoid abuse of our services. 

All content submitted must follow our submission guidelines, which includes a synopsis of how the content applies to a particular educational topic. 

We also offer a DMCA form to report copyright infringement at the copyright’s owner’s request. 

What type of Media is allowed?

Media.onl allows audio files and music, images, and videos. Examples could include:

  • A song
  • Clip or episode of a Television Show
  • Scene from a Movie
  • A Youtube Video
  • Etc…

We offer the ability to upload the files for direct download, but also suggest using a service like Youtube or Daily Motion to embed if you prefer users to be able to stream it.

Media.onl does not offer streaming to avoid abuse of our services, as well as reduce bandwidth use to better improve the performance of the website.
